It’s no secret that most of the parents on our team here at LHR are obsessive and militant enthusiastic about cloth diapering.
Fortunately, we aren’t the only ones. We know that many of you are worshipers at the altar of the cloth as well. So for those of you that already love it, have we got a treat for you!

We’re kicking off our new feature section, “Love Cloth” this week, where we will be featuring, reviewing and of course giving away a pile of lovely treats that are sure to expand your stash over the coming weeks.

And-For those of you that may be on the fence about cloth, here’s your chance to get your hands on some free supplies, courtesy of some of our favorite cloth diaper brands and companies. It’s worth at least trying, I promise you. I know. Yuck. And I know. Poop. And I know. Laundry. I was you once. And then  I got a free diaper, and it changed me. I am a changed person.

Ok, not really.  But I do have  new wonderful and adorable wardrobe additions for my son now. Cloth diapering makes playing dress-up with your tiny-humans so much fun. Seriously. Wait until you see the handmade skull patterned cloth diapers, guys. You won’t believe the awesome.

Plus, the environment and stuff.

But, I digress. Back on topic.

To kick things off, we thought we’d start with a much loved favorite:
Rockin’ Green was awesome enough to be one of the first companies to let us review them, and they remain one of our favorite diaper detergents after a year of handling our worst laundry.  And, since we originally reviewed them, they have come out with a new formulation called “Funk Rock”, which we happen to- surprise- love.
Let’s face it, with cloth diapered kiddos, laundry is inevitable. Even if you use a service, there are still those occasions when you’ve just got to do a load at home, or while on vacation. And while most of us do our diaper laundry every few days at least, it turns out, that stuff smells. Who knew? Especially if you leave it sitting for a few days. Oops. Or you go on vacation and your husband lets things grow in the diaper pail because he can’t work the washer.  The truth is, no matter how often you wash  eventually there comes a point where your adorable shiny diapers end up with this smell that you just can’t get rid of. It’s called the dreaded diaper funk.

(Honestly, It mostly smells like ammonia.)

Lucky for us, Rockin’ Green has come out with a new formulation made specifically to combat the funk, appropriately titled “Funk Rock.” Which kicks the crap out of that smell on your diapers. Or that smell on your sheets. Probably that smell on your kid too, but we couldn’t get ours to stay in the washer long enough to check.

This detergent has saved my sanity and my nostrils much stress. Biodegradable, non-toxic and affordable, Rockin’ Green well, ROCKS. And it smells like candy. Yummy yummy candy. (Warning: Not actually candy. Do not Eat it.) With cutely-named scents such as Motle Clean, Rage Against The Raspberry, and Smashing Watermelons, there’s something for every, um, nose-taste.

Don’t have cloth and don’t want to? It’s also awesome for the kid laundry and pretty much everything else. What with the non-toxic, happy earth benefits and all, it’s sure not to irritate even the most sensitive of skin. And is perfect for kids with eczema. And for washing the funk out of the dog bed. And if you are one of those rare people who never has any funky laundry, it also comes in Hard Rock, Classic Rock and Soft Rock, so you can get one to match your water if needed.
