* Update From Eryn: Due to the health-crisis-of-the-week I ended up in the hospital again and got to have another lovely procedure. All is well now, and you can expect to be bombarded with wonderful wonderful posts as I rush to get caught up here. He Can Totally See Your Soul

These adorable woodland creatures are made by Jane, who lives in a small house in Brooklyn, NY. Jane sews these critters up on an old industrial sewing machine and then stuffs them and does the detail by hand. She recycles the best scraps and bits from all over to make the clothing for each creature and each friend comes lovingly gift wrapped with their own story. They make adorable gifts for the nature loving kids in your life.

Don’t have kids? As I inadvertently discovered, dogs love them too. (Did I mention the bird squeaks?) I’ve caught both of my pups red-handed, (er, red-pawed ?) in the act of trying to abscond with Mr. Squeaky McSqueak Bird the Third numerous times. They watch with rapt fascination and a bit of drool as Elijah enjoys his toy. I guess, don’t give this to a large dog, unless you want to be able to squeeze her belly and make her squeak.

On second thought, that could be amusing…

If birds are perhaps not your cup of tea, fear not, for Jane creates a variety of unique, adorable woodland creatures. Each of which is made custom, so no two animals are exactly alike. Here are a few members of Mr. Squeaky McSqueak Bird the Third’s woodland posse:

Reginald Fox is a bit of a hipster. He’s got a beanbag in his body for a bit of extra weight,(But don’t tell him that he’s got a little extra muffin in his oven, he’s sensitive.) He enjoys fishing and wearing dapper jackets with fake tortoiseshell buttons- because he respects tortoises too much to use their backs as clothing.

Zoe Rabbit here is one of my favorites. Just look at these ears:

Max The Raccoon is a bit of a hoarder, but he always has gifts for his friends. He, like all of his friends, comes  in a reusable cotton bag, perfumed with a lavender and mint sachet.
